In Memory

Jon Hays

Jon Hays

The Chef and owner of JC's cafe, Jonathan Collins Hays, accepted an incredible promotion. His new adventure began on Friday September 2, 2016. His wife Annette Hays, daughters Jennifer Hitchcock (Jake Hitchcock), Samantha Reeves (Tony Reeves), Taylor Kirksey (Matt Kirksey), granddaughters Leighton Hitchcock, Ellie Reeves and Mother Geraldine Hays knew his award winning recipes were going to be highly sought after. Jon was a fiercely loyal husband, father and friend. Those who knew him, knew the shaved head, combat boots and khaki ensemble were simply a front. Jon had a HUGE heart and capacity for giving. Jon had a wonderful sense of humor and was constantly goofy or cracking wildly inappropriate jokes that we all enjoyed. Although he will be deeply missed, we know that everyone in heaven will truly enjoy eating his delicacies. We will always cherish the memories we created and the values he instilled in us forever. We love you. Keep chopping wood.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the McGraw Center, Community Hospice, 4715 Worrall Way, Jacksonville, FL 32224 in Jonathan Hay's name.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Beaches Chapel, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Hardage-Giddens Beaches Chapel

Sincere Sympathy to Jon's family. His life was cut short and he will be missed. So sad.

Although I had been a classmate of Jon's since 3rd grade, I regret that I never got to know him well...but felt like we all got to have a fun glimpse of his spirit here :-) Know everyone in heaven will also be enjoying that award-winning smile of his! Blessings to his beloved family.
