Alan Lee Miner, 45, of Vassar Road, died July 19, 2004, in Houston. The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at Stetson Baptist Church, 1025 W. Minnesota Ave. in DeLand. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. July 24 at Stetson Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Goodroe officiating. Burial will be at DeLand Memorial Gardens, 600 E. Beresford Ave., immediately after the service. Born in Orlando, Mr. Miner was a teacher at Deltona Lakes Elementary School. Before receiving his teaching certificate, he worked at SunTrust Bank in DeLand. He graduated from DeLand High School, and was a member of Stetson Baptist Church. Mr. Miner is survived by his parents, Edwin and Edna Miner of DeLand; one brother, Kevin of Leesburg, Va.; special friend Joann Hardin of DeLand; his grandfather, W.G. Slaughter of DeLand; one niece and one nephew. Lankford was in charge.
