I like the idea of the Beach party.....especially if we can set up a block of rooms at a hotel close to where we hold the party so that those that want to ( or NEED to ) have a place to stay.

I am not big on the theme park idea as I also think it would be difficult to catch up with people.

I agree with everyone else regarding the Holiday Inn, though I have to say I will always LOVE the airport bar.

Thanks again to everyone putting their time and effort into this.

I like the idea of the beach party or maybe a picnic at a park. I think we had had the best time when we can relax and chat. Pot luck and barbque would be great.

The beach party in Daytona sounds like a good option, but please don't schedule something that requires driving to Orlando or going to a theme park. Catching up with each other gets lost in the attractions, etc. and isn't that the whole idea?

The party boat sound good too. Isn't there also a brunch or dinner cruise on the St. John's that can accomodate up to 180 or 190 people? (I'm not sure how many usually attend the reunions.) What about a pub crawl? Or maybe a progressive type dinner downtown? Cocktails and appetizers at the first place, salad at the second, main course at the next, dessert at the last?

I have to agree with the other posts, I'll pay extra NOT to go to the Holiday Inn again. (Or to the Airport bar.)

Leslie Nichols Raith, Chris Roche, and I have been brainstorming, over email, about ideas for our upcoming reunion..and with Mary Ann Michealos Paul's encouragement, we decided to send them on in!

Since Daytona Beach was such an important part of our High School years & because some of us live so far away from a beach now...Chris & I started daydreamed of a big beach party...complete w/bonfire, hotdogs, volleyball, flowing margarita's & crazy beer games after the kids leave in the evening!!

Leslie also had old memories float up...like her great suggestions to: "..revisit sites of proms at Daytona hotels :)) Or a Grad Nite type event in Orlando at one of the theme parks (perhaps with slightly earlier hours!) I was impressed that another class did a party boat ride from Daytona...you could just do finger food on a boat so would save money not having a dinner. If all that is too expensive, what about seeing if Stetson has a good location for the dinner?"

She continued to say that these idea's might all be "..probably pricey but I'd pay more NOT to be at the DeLand Holiday Inn again!!!"

I absolutely agree to also pay 'big buck' NOT to EVER have to go there again!! :-D

Thank you to our wonderful, wonderful reunion committee that tirelessly pulls us all together...it IS a true labor of love that you give all of us these opportunities to remind ourselves of our agelessness!!

I am currently working on an electronic and print on demand version of the 1977 yearbook at the request of one of our classmates who lost his in a fire.

Who else is interested in a copy? Prices TBD for the print version.

Maybe someone can answer this, but I have been going through the 75-77 yearbooks at DeLand and 74 from Deltona and DeLand trying to update missing pictures. There are a few people I knew all the way from Orange City that managed to never have their photograph taken for anything. Not that I think they went all Barnabas Collins on us and avoided the daylight and camaras. (Look it up if your memory has failed you) But where they thinking that far back that they wanted to be untraceable and live in a cabin in Montana?

Actually next year is the 35th. They say math skills are the first thing to go.
While is it still a ways to go, all the information on the reunion will be posted here and email reminders will go out several times.

As far as why you didn't get a letter, I can't answer. I know they did one to two mailings out od Deland.
